I don't want to get sand boxed for looking spammy. So what's the general rule of thumb when it comes to backlinking? How much content can you submit each day?

It really depends on the age of your domain. For a new domain, I'd only do about 10 links per week to high PR sites. After six month's time you can start ramping up the links. In a year? Go for the gusto! |

The key is to make it look natural, so you need to find a number that works for you, that you feel comfortable maintaining. For example, if you publish 20 articles today and only 1 tomorrow, it can look a little fishy to the search engines (even if you're doing everything on the up-and-up). If you feel comfortable publishing 5 articles a week, go for it. If you have time to publish 20 articles a week, go for it. Just keep it relatively consistent.

I think it is so important to understand that your long term goal should be to create a site where people want to link to you. Spending too much time "working" to get links can really get people side tracked from the importance of really and truly making their site the type that people love. It CAN be done!

Lol at all the responses so far, Google does not have the technology and infrastructure in place to monitor every single website on the planet in real time. You can build as many as you like, the quicker you do, the sooner your websites start ranking. Please define for me what constitutes a spammy number? This myth about some spam filter if you go over x amount of links every day is the reason why people find it very tricky and time consuming to get websites to rank, by which time they have usually given up. Whatever you do, just don't ping them. If there is a spam filter, pinging 50 thousand links all at once will certainly trigger a spam filter(if such a thing exists) Best to build the links and let Google find them on its own accord. If you want to find out more about backlinks from a more reliable source than this forum, I would recommend the following forum: Backlinks Forum It is owned by a warrior and alot of the best SEO guys post there. Respectfully Chris |

You can post as frequently as you want. It's what you write that will determine whether it's spam. Some people post multiple times a day.
