Hi, This is my first post on this forum and I am just starting to learn about SEO/Backlinking/etc. I was put in charge of promoting an ecommerce site (in the lingerie niche) We are mostly using Odesk for our outsourcing. At the moment I have a few people simply posting comments on sites within the niche. What would you say is the best use of their time? Please keep in mind that I am just starting to learn about everything you guys discuss in this forum. Thanks in advance, -Eugene |

You might want to add directory submissions to the list. I had a couple of questions about odesk. Are you able to easily monitor their work? How much per hour are you paying them? |

I pay them anywhere from 1 to 3 dollars an hour. You see screenshots every like 30 minutes or so of their screen so yeah you monitor it pretty well. They can send you spreadsheets showing you PR/Awaiting approval or success (of comment submission)/etc. So you do have quite of bit of control from that perspective. Edit: Paywise that is the low spectrum... they go all the way up to like 15 an hour even if they are in india. I just don't really know how to judge quality. I guess I am trying to ask you guys: what specific instructions would you give if you had a team of 3-5 people doing SEO for you. Keep in mind that these guys are not the best english speakers in the world, so it usually have to be pretty simple. |

The best thing that you can do with their time is to let them do all the tedious tasks and those include: - link search (finding relevant pages and link opportunities where your site should acquire a link from) - link acquisition (getting the links from the listed sites gathered from the link search, will mostly include blog comments, guest blogging and email outreach and/or engagement with the siteowner/webmaster, lots of emails!) - content creation (writing of articles to publish on guest blog postings or to be submitted on article directories/web 2.0 properties) - constant research (competitor analysis, keyword research, methods to be used for your succeeding month's campaign) That's pretty much it for starters. |
