Hi,

There are many SEO methods around and all can add value and domain authority to your website - start with some of the most common methods such as:

- Participating in forums / blogs in the same niche as you. Add value not just troll for a backlink!

- Write articles and submit them to article directories - post the original on your website and re-write the article half a dozen times so each one is 100% unique and submit one to each of the top article directories.

- Offer to write content for blogs / sites in your niche in return for a back link in the body. (commonly known as guest blogging)

Avoid pages with more than 100 external links and bad neighbourhood sites such as torrents and porn sites.

- Create a blog on your site and regularly (3 times a week) write one article related to your site topic and have an inbound link to the page with the keyword you want to promote. Do not copy and paste content from other sites but instead write some comment and your own opinion (at least 30%) to avoid duplicate content

Here's what I'd do:

1. Make sure the page you're trying to rank is optimized for the keyword, in your case it sounds like your home page. For starters, I'd make sure the keyword is included in the title (as close to the beginning as possible), in at least one subheading, within the first paragraph and somewhere at the end. Just don't "keyword stuff" in the process.

2. Start building some relevant backlinks to your page. Articles are an easy way to do it, particularly because you can use your keyword as the anchor text withing the resource boxes. Blog commenting is easy, too, and should only take a few minutes. Find a blog related to your market/niche, and post a couple of really good comments. Some people recommend using the keyword as your name (since it shows up as a link), but I'm not a fan, because it'll get yanked as spam. Just use your name or a pen name, and let the on-site SEO take care of the rest. The search engines will figure out what your page is about if you've optimized it properly, and the extra backlinks will tell them "This site is important, better move it on up the rankings."

It will help if you will double your backlinking strategy with your brand building strategy. Think of link building methods that can build your expertise and really drive people into your site.

So it is not enough to say article marketing - you have to create a compelling article that gets people to click through the article and believe your expertise.

It is not enough to make a comment - you need to make your comments valuable that people will click on the link.

Backlinks are only one aspect of the whole Internet marketing process. But if you can please the people that read your content, they will keep coming back. Eventually, they will buy from you and you will make a full time income out of it.
