Need help setting up RSS and social bookmarking for my website / blog

I am absolutely sure that this is easier than I am making it out to be in my mind, but I have read so much information that it seems scary / overwhelming for me to do.

Basically, I have a wordpress website where I have a few of my own original articles and I would like to start having these articles give me a bit of a SEO boost.
I know I need to get them into some social bookmarking sites, article directories, and set up RSS so as to get them out there and so when I add more articles, they automatically get submitted to propogate their away around the net with links to my site, but I don't really know what to do or where to submit them so I can do this right.

Could someone help me with this - If there's a guru out there that would be willing to give me some serious a-b-c steps to follow together with some hand-holding and guidance, it would be AMAZINGLY appreciated or if you're willing to do this for me for some money (and let me know what it is you're doing so I can learn), I'd also be very willing to do that too.

... I'm sure this would be really easy for a person who's done this before, but to a noob, it seems really overwhelming.
