| SEO Warrirors, Some basic questions I always get in SEO and I want to get your feedback and have this thread be where these questions are answered so one can easily find this thread in the search. Please fill free to add basic SEO questions to this thread Does Duplicate Content Hurt my ranking? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Stay unique and just build backlinks. Why would you want to compete against your own content? Quality and quanity! SEO Warriors: What would be your answer? Can you perhaps address how to combat stale website content so that your website remains relevant and visible at the top of Google SERPs? I figure you have 2 options here. Keep your stale content and just rewrite as new post and build back links to high ranking sites. Or tweak the stale content(then ping) and build back links SEO Warriors: What would be your answer? Does it hurt your rankings at all to constantly update your posts? Like adding images, hyperlinks, and content? I haven't heard this to hurt rankings but maybe if you change it everyday and it will maybe dance around as Google goes to index. I say keep building back links and create new content to keep everything fresh and build upon new post. Keep in mind quality and old post could be outdated. Rewrite and have old post back link to new post SEO Warriors: What would be your answer? So, question, just like the images having alt text and descriptions – does the same thing occur for videos? Like, if I’m embedding my YouTube videos into my page do all the tags and titles come with it? Yes you can add keywords to your videos. Google actually can transcribe them into text and you can get the coding to the video and put keywords in even if you don't mention in the video. If you use Camtasia under custom options you can add keywords and descriptions as well to your videos. As for You tube I don't think the keywords are embedded in the videos automatically..warriors? SEO Warriors: What would be your answer? How do I add keywords to images? How do I add to alt tag and link? Also does it need to be a link for it to count? So I have a image and it's uploaded, now what? Make your life easier and use this plug in. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-image/ Your images should be described via ALT Tags with the keywords you are optimizing for – If your image is hosted on your web-host, the file name of the images should also be SEO’d — If you have an image about polar bears have it be polar-bear.jpg in your images folder. SEO Warriors. What would your answer be? Hopes this helps everyone. Your feedback is appreciated as well |

My answers: Yeah you should always create unique stuffs no one line duplicates and deplicates also shoul strugule a lot to rank higher. Well, stealing the content and writing new article is not correct way. Using others article as reference and writing entirely new articles is correct way. Dynamic pages and daily updated posts have higher chances of ranking higher. Yeah , using keywords in video and around video is benificial. I just get a complete code for image from w3schools and then edit the required fields to include keywords in it. |

We do know that your title has to be your keywords. I agree it's hard to get the alt tag into youtube..
