OK, i have a few questions i'm hoping those who are currently making over £30 or $47 a day don't mind answering. How many sites do you own? How many impressions are you getting a day total? How long have you been making this amount of money via adsense for? How many google adsense accounts do you have? Edit*** I'm asking these questions, as until two months ago, i had no sites, i now own roughly 20 and there steadily producing pocket change each day. Obviously, i'm aiming to expand, and with this, produce quality content which is great for the user, but at my current rate, i'd need about 3000 impressions each day to produce £30 / $47 a day, which i think is a bit much? |

It largely depends on other things like the niche and if the traffic is good quality. But I have 200 HubPages and I'm making £3 a day. It would be a lot more but it took 100 Hubs to work out how to make money there. |

Other peoples stats shouldn't really matter to you so much, since how much you can earn depends on your choice of keyword phrases (and the number of searches they command), the clickthrough rate your sites layout generates (which still very much varies from site-to-site, although some layouts are just flat-out more effective than others), advertising CPC, and so many other factors. There are some people out there ranking on page 5+ for some high CPC keywords but because of the sheer quantity of people searching for them and their respective longtails, they're able to make £xx/day with just a handful of clicks (if not sometimes just a single click or two) with what little "trickle-traffic" they receive. Some people get thousands of impressions per day, but get a rubbish CTR and make merely a few pennies or barely enough to buy themselves a pint. I will say however, that I have sites earning over £35 (not per day) which require significantly less impressions than the number you mentioned. Try more like 350. Yep, they get an insanely high CTR and not a bad CPC. So, no - you don't necessarily need an absolute ton of impressions to make some good money from AdSense. There are a lot of factors that come into play, and there are many angles from which to approach it. |

Thanks for the info DireStraits, very much appreciated. Puts things into prespective really, as my sites are still young, and pulling in roughly 100 impressions a day total. They still need work in regards to backlinking some of their keywords, which should raise those keywords in SERPS. At the moment i'm getting a CTR of roughly 6% which i didn't think was too bad as google say's 5% is average, but from your post, i get the feeling you're getting a lot higher, so i'll need to focus on my layout. Also seems as though i need to focus on targeting those keywords for higher paying ads, as what i get for some of my clicks is ridiculous. |

200 x 3000 = 200 000 visits /month 200 000 not equal to 90£, get them ranked higher.

I personally would look at your poor performing sites and see if there is a better way to monetize it. $16 eCPM is the lower end of the scale but still a lot better than most people doing it. Make sure your next site has a higher average CPC and you should boost it pretty quickly. Try split testing your ads to see if you can increase your CTR. 6% to 10% nearly halves your required impressions...

I'm glad to be making money each day now from my sites, and as you mentioned, i have this down, so now i need to create some new ones which have a higher CPC for their keywords. Some of my sites receive a few clicks each day religiously, so if i can do the same thing with a higher CPC keyword, i should be on the right track. I think i'll focus more on ranking the other keywords for these sites, but put most of my efforts into generating new sites with a higher CPC as my current sites are probably limited. Not forgetting how to improve my CTR.....somehow
