What is the difference between cache and index in google?

Cache page is a snapshot of the page, it is what Google uses to judge if a page is a good match for your query. Index means search engines have saved your webpages on their servers. Or in other words cached mean when was the last time your page was accessed and indexed means how many pages is read by google.
