Hello everyone, I am starting a website aimed at health, fitness and life improvement strategies. I have some questions regarding the process and using SEO to my advantage. What have I done so far: - I have purchased a unique, 5 letter word .com and installed a wordpress blog. - I am writing a few 200-350 word articles that are 100% unique about various health, fitness and personal improvement topics a day, utilizing and researching popular SEO keywords and including them within the articles. - I will be using SENUKE to send out these articles in an attempt to generate more exposure and traffic. - I have signed up for clickbank and plan to place links to various items on the site and within my articles. Concerns: - Health, fitness and life improvement is too general and not a specific enough niche. - I will not generate enough traffic through just my articles. - Using just clickbank is not enough and will not generate much revenue for my site. Should I include other things like Adsense, etc? Goal: Build the sites content up over the next 3 months and generate $150 dollars a day. Can anyone offer me any suggestions or feedback? |

Start with a smaller niche, and work your way up to the higly competitive niches you mentioned. If you are a newbie, you need to learn to walk before you can run.

I agree with Mejohn, pick a subniche of your site and really work on that. If you work on it sub-niche by sub-niche building it slowly and linking them together (carefully!) you will have something powerful in the end. good luck Lou |

I agree, go with a smaller niche, perhaps a niche 'within' your main niche... one that you know lots about! Good choice with wordpress, install allinoneseo, internal link builder plugins (auto link words in your posts to pages on your site) and submit the RSS feeds of your site. try to strike up some relatioships with other bloggers in your niche, sponser ads in their newsletters/mailouts too ;-) |

Also put major emphasis on on-page SEO. It is one aspect that a lot of people overlook while promoting the site.

Getting ranked on the first page of Google with a one word website is something that will take you a very long time and there is no guarantee you will succeed. You should focus on subniches and maybe build several sites that each one will be super targeted surrounding a subniche that gets a lot of monthly searches. It will be much easier for you and as someone mentioned here, you need to learn how to walk before you can run. |
