Let's Guess Google's 200 Ranking Factors..

OK this hasn't been done before and I think we can get most if not all of them.. I'll start out with just a few I know of..

1. Keyword in the Title
2. Good Meta Description (secret to this is to write well with your keywords spread throughout your content)
3. Synonyms << LSI
4. Page Rank of Page
5. Inbound links to site/page
6. Quality and relevance of content
7. Keyword density
8. Authority of site the content is on
9. Domain Age
10. Page load speed
11. Competitor Content Comparison
12. Keyword to Site Content Mathing e.g. What is the best way to? Might return an answers site such as Yahoo answers or a forum..
13. Good internal inking
14. Usage of H tags in the content (Why? Keywords in them and because H tags are usually used to break up large pieces of content and large usually means informative)
15. Uptime History (is the site reliable?)

They don't rank pages on the basis of meta descriptions.
This has no bearing at all to google. They may choose
to quote it, they may choose not to. But it has nothing
to do with any ranking.

Page load time is probably not even top 20.

Now the rest, are pretty good.

It does.. if you listen to Matt Cutts he has repeatedly mentioned "good meta description". This doesn't mean it has to be inside the meta tags.. it means they want a good sentence to be displayed in the search results..

Yes, but that has nothing to do with rankings. Has to do with
click-thrus.

Notice I'm not saying meta description is not important. It is.
And certainly if you are doing a list of recommendations, that would
be up there, top 10 to be sure.

90% of your list is what people should concentrate on, that's for sure.
Site speed? Only after the other stuff is nailed.

Forgot to add my own 2 cents to your list: Useful, relevant content for your visitors!

What I really like about your beginning list is there is no voodoo! It's all based
on logic and google guidelines.
