Long approval wait for Adsense

What's going on with Adsense at the moment?

I closed my account because I moved country and then reapplied. It has now been a month and no word from Google.

Last time I applied (in January 2009) I was approved within days for a blogger blog.

This time, I applied with a nice city guide site, that definitely meets the criteria.

I read all these horror stories of people waiting up to 6 months for approval and nothing happens unless a Google employee turns up and approves them. Seems like Google's auto approval system puts many websites on hold without reason.

Is there anything to do, to speed up the approval process?

The only thing you can do to speed up the process is post your appeal/question here.

Yep, I did that and a helpful user flagged it for a Google Adsense rep. My account got approved fast after that. Who knows how long I might have waited without.

The thing about Google is this: They will take their sweet time when doing anything and there is very little we can do about it.
