Default Did I get Google Slapped in the Content Network?

Ok, so this week I had run two campaigns for a site/product of mine in Google Adwords...one in search, the other in content. Then a few days ago, it looks like my Search campaign got slapped.

A day later, my Content campaign which was working fine, stopped showing impressions. The day before, it showed my average position was right around 2, and my CPC bid was around 45 cents, and the average CPC was around 25 cents.

How can I tell if this has been "slapped" by Google? I've increased my bid now to nearly $1 see it that works. How long can that take to tell?

I would love to know from some Google "experts" here.

Thanks!
Dayne

Thanks TryInHere, I did that and it is showing "Active" in my status in Adwords Editor (mac version). So hopefully, I just needed to raise my bids.

Quick question...

When many of you start on the content network, do you go "wide" by placing all across the network first, THEN narrow down to specific sites?

good news / check your ads are approved then if so probaby price / traffic.

to answer the rest you will need a display pro to answer that / look up a person by the name of slipboy ? seems big in the display area of the G / he may be able to help.

Hmm...I pulled up my campaign that WAS slapped, but in Adwords Editor, it shows "Active" so I don't think this is an accurate indicator now that I've looked more into it.

Dayne, you probably just need to look at your website, landing pages, ad copy and how you are targeting. More than likely, one of two things is happening. 1) By lowering or stopping traffic, Google is warning you without any official messages or emails that you are doing something they don't like or 2) you may need to optimize your current AdGroups to get those impressions back.

Google will evaluate the keywords you bid on, the language of your landing page, whether your site has all the required pieces (TOS, privacy policy, earnings disclaimer, etc.) and your ad copy. Any of those places can red flag you and there are certain categories right now that are just really difficult to advertise on Google regardless of whether you are doing everything "right" (dating, weight loss and supplements, get rich quick, etc.).

If you feel good about your landing page, website, ad copy and keywords...then you probably need to increase your bids, test ad copy to get better CTR's and expand your campaigns with more AdGroups to diversify your traffic.

If it was running and you were getting impressions, someone may have complained about the ad and it was sent to editorial for review. It will still show as active even though it isn't being shown.

You nailed it. That is exactly what happened and guess what? Slapped.
