Default Made my homepage sticky but it still has my other posts underneath how can i remove ?

Hi,

Not quite sure what i`m doing wrong but i`ve made the homepage of my new blog sticky and added 3 other posts but the problem is the other posts just run under the original post making 1 long post which i dont want.

I thought that by making the original post sticky it would be the only post on the page because that is how my old wp theme worked. Can anyone tell me what i need to do so as the homepage just has 1 post showing and not all my posts please.

This is the site..Crystal singing bowl

Thanks

If you're using word press just make it a static page under reading settings.
Hope that helps,
Kim

Also, you can make it so that only one posts shows per page... I think that would work. I just always use a static page for my homepage.

WP-Admin Panel

Settings-->Reading Settings

The first setting is:

"Blog pages show at most" Set that number to 1 (default is 10).

Then set the posts per page to 0 (perhaps it doesn't count a sticky in that number), and see if that works. IM is all about trial and error.

Alternatively, I might just:

Put the content of the sticky post onto a "page" versus a post, and simply set that page as your WP homepage.

Keep in mind that you will be using WP for some time to come, so playing around with it and testing little things here and there are a necessity.

OMG, so sorry.. I can't keep track of everything I post on here and if you didn't find the help you need yet I really am sorry...

Okay, this for one I am not sure if it matters if you leave it as a post and then have it as a page but if you want this to be your first page ie: someone goes to your url and sees this first then in your wp admin click on pages make new page and copy your content...

then go to reading and put in a static page as in the title of your post... and it will always be the first thing people see when they go to your url or domain.

Please don't go on what I say as meaning it will help your site because I have no idea of what your site is about... but if you want your post to be the first thing people see, this would be the way to do it... if you need more information on this please im me... understand that I am no expert but I do have some sites on page one and two of google as a result of these actions and if you need more help I may not be back at this thread but I look to see if anyone has im'd me,

Kim Sorry but I love these smiley's
