Hi forum hows it going bout time I minggle with the warriors of seoI have a slight google update problem. On the 16th of august I recently got my website indexed by google. I started implementing backlinks back too the site. On the 22nd august google webmaster tools back office has showed the latest backlink statistics back to my website which I expected. Since then ive implemented more backlinks and had another backlink update on the 25th of august with no sign of the added backlinks since the 22nd and no sign improvements of my website climbing the google listings. Googles cached version of the website was updated on the 21st of august. I know that google has mentioned about exact statistic updates and problems. Im just wondering do I have to wait for googlebot too cache the website to see the benefits of the latest backlinks and the websites position? Or will google automatically advance its position without cache and insufficient backlink updates? Hope someone understands cheers |

Google shows you only an arbitrary sample of your links, and actually the data has been getting worse and worse. There is no perfect link analysis tool, but you should use the Yahoo Site Explorer for better results.

cheers for that mate time reaps rewards if done properly. Just an update on the website - google just cached the latest page but hasnt changed the title of the website in the index as I modified it before the next cache. Usually it changes the next day when G spider crawls or after a cache update. Its probably because I just registered the free domain and hosting just over a month ago. Oh well I just have to wait for the next update or near too and see. Ive re-coded the php, robots and re-checked site map to see if it makes a difference... |

I personally think the most consistent way to check backlinks is the Yahoo Site Explorer. Google Webmaster Tools is just kinda weird when it comes to showing how many backlinks you actually have - maybe they want it to remain a mystery. ![]() Yahoo Site Explorer Example: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...ore+URL&fr=sfp Brian |
