Running multiple Wordpress installations from one admin panel

Does any of you know the best way to run multiple wordpress blogs (across multiple domains), from one installation?

I know you can do this for subdomains with Wordpress MU, but how do you do it with individual domains.

Just a quick idea that sprung to mine - create multiple data bases and wp-config files? maybe maybe not just a thought.
