Default Too Many Squidoo Lenses - SEO problems?

From a purely SEO perspective, are there disadvantages to having too many Squidoo lenses? I notice that its very easy to get a squidoo lens to rank in not too competitive niches. Will this ability be negated by having too many lenses from the same account? Are there unwritten and hidden penalties to having too many squidoo lenses? They tend to get linked to each other without you having to do so.

I'm not sure how much weight Squidoo lenses carry anymore with SEO. Someone who is better than me and doing this a lot longer has shifted their focus from these. So, I don't know.

I think that there really is no such thing as too many Squidoo lenses. You primarily concern should be with the footprint you leave behind AND the fact that you might be putting all your eggs in one basket.

When you rely on one platform and certainly one user account you are essentially putting your fate into one website. If you are a Squidoo master than I suggest that you have your lenses on different accounts as well as try to diversify into other web 2.0 platforms.

IF all your lenses are easy to find, then I agree. If not, chances are they will just sit there and not rank, won't pass link equity, and you could probably be doing other similar things like hubpages, scribd, etc. I agree with lbtillmanyoung. Unless you are cleaning up with your lenses then try something else.

You can never have too many squidoo lenses.
If having too many websites is a problem, makes no difference if they
are squidoo, hub, blogs, etc. But that's not a problem. That's why they have Giant Squids.

You can never have too many quality websites.

YOu need to have a more diverse Strategy.

Beside Squidoo try to get links from

Hubpages, Blogs, Article Sites...and so on!
