Default Sudden Issue with Adsense...

Hey guys,

We have been creating websites using the clickbump theme for sometime, and adding our pub-number into the theme and its creates relative ads perfectly.

For the last week something seem to happen at the adsense end that suddenly changed all our websites to show image ads (so of course no revenue as these ads and no way relavent).

One of our sites Baby Keepsake Book is an example of this.

We have changed the settings in adsense just to show text ads, plus create specific channels and added the slot ids into theme which are text based conent ads and still showing image ads.

Can anyone assist us, cause its driving us up the wall as it worked fine before.

Cheers
Alex

It may take a while for changes to come up. Did you make any other
changes? Like code or style changes? Any little typo can cause the
algorithm to ignore the content. Is all that you changed only
the adsense settings? Whenever you change any settings, make a back
up of the page. That way, you can quickly get back to normal.

However, on my current screen resolutions, you are breaking the TOS
of google adsense. One that few people know about. Your content must
be above the fold. On your site for me, I have to scroll down to even
see any. Get rid of the graphics just below the title and you are set.

There are many, many other reasons for showing public service.
Those should not apply for just changing to text. Those reasons
have to do with getting de-indexed, adding bad content, making
a robots.txt setting, even using php session ids. And the #1 reason,
not enough content to read.

I myself would login to adsense, copy and paste the code directly to
the website code. Modifying the code by hand on the website is a bad idea.

The funny thing was before it was working fine for at least a month. Plus we were get good adsense clicks.

The image fold thing is only not there because of the huge image ad now apearing as usuaually that theme show the title of the post so it only just gets away with that rule.

Its just strange how something could just change. But on all our sites?

So the rest of the world should run the same size monitor/screen res. that you are running, so we don't violate Adsense TOS?

Get a larger monitor...

The whole point of buying the clickbump theme is to stop the ball ache of doing things manually.

And if you new anything about the tested adsense templates images under the title helps conversion. The pictures are just small enough to show the title under the ads the to tos is fine.

The issue i have is image ads come up and the never use to. I just need an expert who could just help me resolve this issue.

And of my tos was wrong how come an image adsense ads shows up at all?

Cheers

I'm running the highest setting on my laptop.
1366 x 768

I'd say that setting covers the majority of internet surfers, as
most use the popular 1280 x 720. If it looks like it follows in
the lowest 800x600 setting or whatever, you are clean.

The point is? Google tells you to test it for all resolution settings, but, sigh...

The title is not content.

Users must scroll to see any part of the article. Bad practice period anyway,
let alone with adsense.

Remember, this forum is full of those who get their adsense cancelled because
they did not follow all the rules. Bending the rules is breaking the rules.

But, do what you want to do.

f the AdSense code has been manually modified, such as to change the ad unit width or height or the publisher ID, then we may show public service ads. Please select the desired ad format on the AdSense Setup tab of your account and then paste the generated ad code, unedited, onto your pages. Keep in mind that modifications to your code are not permitted by our program policies.
The fact that you have got them for a week may be a tip off.

With that WP-Theme, did you simply add your Adsense pub-ID?

Have you went to your Adsense account & created a new Adsense Ad that is the same size, then use all of the Adsense code?

I've had the public service ads once before, & after I replaced the old Ad with a new Adsense Ad, everything was good to go (relevant Ads).

yes i have created specific ads and added the slot ids into the theme so the sizes are correct. Yes i havea entered my pub-id.

The clickbump theme was created specifically the obide by the adsense tos, and has the cirtified adsense mark to be used.

This is really weird.
