Hi guys, I had this concept and thinking, not sure if this is legal/ethical/possible... Is it ok to use ppc like Adwords to promote direct affiliate links (eg. clickbank or cj products)? ![]() Is there a term or a name to this type of strategy? Is there anyone who has ever profit from this? Thanks in advance for the answers ![]() amernian |

I'm not sure if you can send customers direct through your affiliate link with PPC but you could send them to a landing page or your own website that promotes affiliate products.

Thanks Simon for your detailed reply. I thought it is illegal to send a user directly to affiliate link by adwords. Anyway now I understand.

Really wonderful information about direct linking but what about using it with another strategy does it affect the quality score?

Wow thanks Simon, that helped alot. If it's so, then a landing would still be a better option. No shortcuts :S

Oh I also discovered that: Google only shows one Ad of a similar domain name at once. Therefore Google will only award the ad display to the highest bidder (+good quality score). |

They used to allow it no problem but alot of the time now they won't approve the ad. You might be able to do a 301 redirect though.

Yes, you can, Google is extremely harsh with affiliates, but try Yahoo or Bing, their traffic is not as target as Google, but you still can do it |

i do not think that you should try that.. because if you use affiliate link and if your affiliate program will not work well then the money you have spent in adwords will be vain.. so instead of that create your own site and then use that sites to promote any specific products

If you are going to direct link (not advisable) then buy a domain name with the keyword you want to target in it, then do a re-direct to your affiliate link, you have to do this with your domain registration company. Then use that Url for your ad campaigns. Now WHY you would want to pay for traffic and then send them to somebody elses product is beyond me. Laziness I should imagine. Set up a review page/squeeze page/landing page then pay for the traffic, at least you are getting a email list built. Then you can market to them. You can offer other products to them and make more money. I think it's called Affiliate Marketing. Pete |

Wow thanks for the info guys! I kinda experiment more about this direct linking on Google Adwords and guess what? Google approved the ads! BUT!!! Google is not even displaying the ads at all ! The top bidder is like $0.60++ I'm trying $0.70. Google didn't display the ad at all~ So, I'll scrap this idea off lol. It just doesn't work (or make any sense) |
