Default How to look up "how to" using google keyword tool?

So when you use the tool some words like "and", "the", etc are left out. Well two of those words left out are "how" and "to". So naturally you can't look up things with "how to" at the end.

For example, "apologize how to" doesn't show up, but oddly enough, "how to apologize" does. Tons of other things like this. Maybe all the ones I'm guessing are just not searched often enough.

But I'm wondering how you would search phrases like that?

When you use words like "in" "the" "and" etc. google doesn't look at those as they are just filler words (for lack of a better term). But again, if you swap the order of words like that, you will return different results. The results will be darn close, but they are off a few positions.

Thoughts?

Hey miller,

I actually think they're called "Stop Words".

Anyway, I'm not sure how to do that on Google, but with Keyword Discovery I actually wrap the keyword in quotes.

So, if I were researching *how to seo*; I'd wrap that in quotes.... so I now have "how to seo".

Now, Keyword Discovery has a feature called "Phrase Match" that automatically does this type of search - so quote wrapping isn't necessary. However, sometimes I find myself researching very specific terms with a combination of quotes and non quotes... ie:' "increase traffic" + facebook '

Perhaps Google's tool will respond similarly. So try wrapping phrases in quotes and using the "+" character to connect other phrases without quotes.

Hope this helps.
