We all know about SEO for Google, Bing, MSN, and Yahoo. But is there such a thing as SEO for Squidoo lenses? What I mean is, people go into Squidoo, type in a search phrase on their search box, and voila, you're number one on Squidoo for that search phrase. Is there any info out there for this? I know they rank them lenses but it seems that they're ranked within categories not keywords. Any info appreciated.

I am also interested in knowing tips about this. One tip maybe is using the "featured lens", in that way, your lenses will be interconnected and it will be deemed popular by the lens spider (if there's one).

I was wondering this too. I would also like to know this for ezines and other sites. I think though that they are specifically chosen and it is based upon the readers popularity

Squidoo search works by looking at the content of the lenses, as well as the title and tags that have been assigned to them. The Lensrank of the lenses is taken into account when ranking the results, as well as their relevance to your query. It's not nearly as sophisticated as the big search engines. So, make sure that your target keywords are well represented throughout your content, and pick good tags that are relevant. Saying that, not many people use the Squidoo search feature, so it's probably best to concentrate on regular SEO and get traffic from search engines. |

It's increase or show your hide visitors and increase more traffic. Remember, Squidoo is now one of the most popular sites on the Internet. It’s a killer combo that will attract both customers and better search engine rankings.

sites with content produced by individuals, and just for that google loves them (here is the link for those who dont know what squidoo is Squidoo : Welcome to Squidoo), the belief behind that is that user generated content is less biased than company generated content, there are many sites with these properties such as facebook, myspace, hi5, etc..... This sites rank very good on Google, nevertheless they need to follow the same structure than any other page for the onsite optimization meaning: - keyword on the domain name (in this case www.squiddo.com/keyword) - Keyword on titles. - tags. - Good and original content. For some terms squidoo is very useful, for some others it is forbidden (payday loans, credit cards, etc...) but I will suggest you to use them to sell video games, books or movies, since squidoo allows you to put affiliate links on the pages no problem. Hope this helps. | |

Great tips. I just made a new lens, and forgot to do so! I want to come back to fix it. Thank you! Large simple Squidoo of the iceberg. I always add a directory, because I was told to when I first learned. I do not know if it helps the search engine optimization as well. Thank you.
