Tricks to get .edu backlinks

Many times, few of my Webmaster friends have asked to share tips to get .edu backlinks. I am hereby sharing few easy ways which worked for me in reality. They are as follows:-
1. If you are an expert in any of your favorite subject, offer the admin of educational website some free tutorial articles periodically on that subject but they should posses enough knowledge in it. This method is known as content knowledge sharing.
2. Most of the College admins have little or no knowledge about marketing their website , just share few basic optimization pointers about their website to the relevant webmasters which should work a bit and they will surely give you link back.
3. Colleges have sponsorship programmes to encourage poor but brilliant student, be a donor there. They might put your link in their sponsor page.
4. In this world of stress, offer to organize a camp of meditation or self healing for the students. That can work quite well for you.
5. Work as a part-time online guest lecturer of college

These are great tips actually, not just tips on finding already posted .edu backlink sites that you can comment on, but tips that will help spread your link organically. Thanks for the great information!

I still do not understand the buzz about fining .edu backlinks which probably go into comment section or the guest book. unless you get a link that is editorial, it wont pass much of a link value. Even if you get a comment, it will be no followed. if it's do follow, spammers would soon find out about it (Thanks to Xrumer and Scrapebox for making the internet SPammers heaven) and flood it.

Besides Matt cutts has suggested that Google does not weigh .edu any more than .com or .org's. However it is not entirely true, but still if it's not editorial incontent link, I would say STOP WASTING TIME!!!

Good tips. But for being a guest poster for an EDU site, you must have the best content on the topic. Also, what if you don't have enough money to sponsor them, or you don't know how/what to teach?..?

Rather, I would go for building profiles on these sites gaining backlinks.
