Unfairly Banned on Adwords What to do.?.

My adwords account has just been banned,

this is a hypnotherapy business, not an affiliate marketer or something like that, a bricks n mortar business, with professional non-spammy website.

It promotes hypnosis services such as "quit smoking & weight los" hypnosis, where you pay a fixed fee, say $300, and your get a 2hr hypnosis session, and if it doesnt work, you get repeat sessions for free.

There are LOADS of almost identical business (I am in Sydney). just Google quit smoking Hypnosis.

We received an email, which was from Google LPQ - Final Warning..

Final Warning: Your Google AdWords account has multiple violations
(which was actually the first & last warning..)

Our Marketing copy was not as agressive as other advertisers on adwords, but, we toned it down further, very thoroughly added extended descriptions of warranties etc, and resubmitted to Google.

I replied to adwords support saying, Thanks, we have made substantial updates to our sites to comply, were not quit sure what the problem was, but have toned down all marketing copy and made substantial efforts to clarify our offers as clearly as possible...

I also sent them a list of 5 other competitors who have adwords ads running with at least, if not more so aggressive marketing.

Then They replied,

Dear xyz,

Thanks for your email.

We understand that you have questions regarding the status of your site. We can confirm that your site has been flagged for Unacceptable Business Practices and was consequently disabled. Any change you make to your website will not help because it the the business module that Google does not support.

In response to multiple complaints received from users and publishers about this category of ads, it is Google’s policy to not accept ads that make inaccurate or misleading claims regarding the product being promoted.

I am in correspondence with Adwords support, but its like getting blood out of stone.

What is meant by business module that google does not support?

What I am baffled by, is why our site is banned
(the account is still active, but the quality score (which was between 7 & 10 for our kewords), has been slapped to 1, so our ads dont run, When other sites with more aggressive marketing are not penalized.

Have we just been unlucky that we are first on the list and Google is going through this industry (ie quit smoking / hypnosis etc?), and should I just raise more complaints about our competitors.

Does anyone have any tips for how to get an adwords campaign back up and running after this? I honestly don't believe our site is breaking any T&C's, I even spoke to the dept of fair trading (the Australian regulator of these things), and they think our ads are fine!

HELP!

From everything I've seen you're going to have a tough time with that one. Google isn't always the most open to seeing things from a different viewpoint.

It might be easiest to sign up for a new account with different billing information and make sure that you exceed their TOS.

I would imagine that would involve having to setup a new website/domain (ie a new adwords account promoting the same website would obviously not be enough ?

Has anyone done this?

Yip Google is doing the Super Slap allot lately banned for life with no parole.

Many have found this to be to their advantage as they have learned better free methods that have boosted sales.

Plus you may have a brick and mortar business stop smoking and hypnosis are some of the biggest affiliate niche's so you could be in trouble just by association.

Adwords is a pain...try using Bing/Yahoo...better conversions and better support. Eventually Adwords will have to up their game as their market share is very slowly being eaten up

Try another bunch of traffic methods.

You shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.

In my opinion you shoudl try SEo for such kind of sites. i was approched by a client once for promoting cigarette business. Even e cigarettes are not allowed in Google Adwords. So I had to do SEO instead of PPC

If they don't want hypnosis sites using adwords, they will ban you. That's all I can think of. But how knows with them? You'll likely never get a direct explanation or it will be a poor explanation.

Hello Blisstrader, yes hypnosis is one topic that can be added to the existing known non preferred G topics.

I hinted a few weeks back that would be a new round of banning and this was the topic. the subject matter really falls into the snake oil related topics where it makes promises per say that can not be substantiated.

Now before you slam me and call me names, i would agree that you may be and possibly are the authorative person on this subject, but with the advent of sheeple any body can ow knock up a eguide on this topic, i could draft one ready for tomorrow and have it on sale and i know crap about it, and with the advent of sheeple just cresting money products the whole system would now be full of junk more than good.

Those other ones still running is only time before they fall and i will add any affiliates promoting this product type will also fall if they do not remove it from their campaigns.

I really do not see you being able to reinstate your account, your only option is to continue negotiation with the G adwords team, remain polite and be prepared for delays in response times, however it would be vary rare your account is reinstated.

opening a new account to re run this product will only result in the same outcome.

for my money look now at organic traffic and products that offer link building services etc / maybe look at the services of some of the seo guys here for your best advice.

I think that you need to trial and error until you find proper formula for Adwords.

It is your website that Google doesn't like for some reason. You do not need a new account because you are going to run into the same problem; the account is not an issue - it's the website.

Set up a new website and a lead capture form. After you collect people's emails, route them back to the old site.

according to my own experiences, google's support service is really too bad ..... each time I have problem with my ads, each time they reply to me at least 3 or even 7 days after my inquiry, or even no reply.

As a newbie i can not post links - fair call - but I have found a site that has solved this exact problem but i can't post the link to where its detailed.

The business is the SEOGuys in Australia - Google them. In their case studies they claim to have unbanned a permanently banned adwords account for a Melbourne hypnotist

Might help to read what they did, or contact them.

Weight loss is a tough sell. A very tough sell. You
have to know somebody.

As far as not putting your eggs in one basket, well,
there aint no alternative to adwords. All others
that are worth anything, and there may be, what, one
or two, have the same rules.

And as far as bing gaining market share, in what? They
continue to lose to google in the ad money department.

Yahoo is in shambles. Go figure. I predicted that when they
went with MS and bing. Bing is a nonissue as far as online
income. They lost $2.5 billion online in 2011. Read that
twice and let it sink in. They are a decent software
company, but man they ruined a lot of online stuff.

Google had record profits last quarter. Yup. Even then
people still dissed them.

Now here's a question for you. How much money online do
you think MS has made with bing? Answer: zero.

They have not made one thin dime but have lost billions.
They have never made any profits form their online
endeavors.

Anyone want to talk about how great bing and MS online
are? Sure. In a fairytale book.

My best advise is forget them and find other ways to make money from your site.

try to get whatever you can from the money they don't want to give you of course, but just leave them.

I had the same problem in the past on one of my sites and frankly, i'm happy it happened, I found other and better ways to make money.
