Default Content of a website

Hi,

When we talk about content of a website, are we talking about the text that we use in the website? For example, introduction to my company and so on?

I read somewhere that google search engine love fresh content. Therefore if I have an introduction page as my main page, do I always change the text in there? In that case, I will eventually run out of idea for the text

yes content is very important and if you update the content after some time this will really help you to get high rank.

Updating the contents of the websites could be beneficial from lots of aspects. First of all the search engines will be visiting them more often which means more pages would get indexed faster and it could be assumed that even the ranks would be helped in the long term. The people too who are looking for fresh tips would be arriving on the websites pages and so, they may get interested in revisiting them and they might be potential customers in some cases as well.

When it comes to content I would suggest you use informative info. Revolve the content around some long tail keywords that have a nice search volume. Do saturate the content with the keywords which is very important as Google hates that. Pictures are always good but make sure it is directed to the content at hand. The more original content you have the more potential traffic you will get.

Content is everything, text, pictures, videos, blogs, comments, forum posts, etc., whether it be one, all or a combination of those items, it is content.

When you say content there are two meanings:
1) For search engines: fresh content is text because search engines only can index text of websites and images of it and as you know images can not help you to have higher ranking on web search results. So main content is text.
2) For visitors: New content is any new text, image , flash or any other new thing in your website.
And about the main question of this thread i should say that its better that you have a new home page every day OR if you want to have a fix home page, you can link to new pages of your website in home page, in this case, your home page will be determined as new content for search engines.

LOL... Don't stress out!!! It is not about running out of ideas, it is just about keeping the content fresh an current. You can perhaps rewrite the content once in a while. Add information, remove information that is not that important, and just tweak it a bit so that it appears to Google as if you have content Activity on your site. NOT just an introduction, but everywhere you can fit information in, do so. Always include your keywords and long tail keywords. And also ensure that your content is unique and of superior quality. No spinning stuff, or mumble jumble that reads like gibberish.

I don't know where some of these answers came from but they didn't seem to really address your question accurately.

Your site content pages like the "About Me" do not have to be updated all the time. That would be silly as the information is unlikely to change very often. Updating a page that is indexed and showing up on the rankings is dumb unless you think you can improve the ranking for the keyword used on it.

You keep your site fresh by adding more content to it on a regular basis. And even this doesn't have to be done daily, depending on what type of site it is.

If it's an authority site or hoping to be, you'll want to add content more frequently than if it is just a mini-site with a review on it.

Really, it depends on what you plan on building for a site.

It is very right that Google crawler loves fresh content because in SEO field "content is king "but you don't need to change your main page. you can write articles and blog posts about your website or your niche (area of interest) so these activities considered as fresh content on your website.

Adding unique content everyday does not mean you start changing the main page of the website everytime....that would not be good for your visitors or clients.Instead first have a unique content for your site, then start a blog and try adding a post with fresh content daily...this would be loved by Google.Make sure to give a link of your blog from the home page of your site and a link to your site from the posts of your blog.

By writing article and blog posts, do you mean I post them in a seperate website? (in article submission side and other blog) in this case, the fresh content is not on my website but is the blog or article submission website.

Google loves new content.

If you post unique and informtive content to your website two things occur.

You will get indexed by the search engine bots regular;
You will keep your audience happy.

Incorporate a blog into your website and add content 2-3 times per week minimum.

If you do this, you will get indexed and will start to show up in the search engines more and more.

Use Wordpress, Google loves it

hope that helps.

Content is Text, Video, Audio & Image

but google values, Text over all

You can never run out idea on content...

Convert Audio and Video into transcript

you got your text there...

I would add a updated article on your lower portion of your main page once a week. Then as you build more articles maybe add the archive ones to a blog section of your website. Just a thought. If you can add youtube videos to your articles this would help as well.
