Default Seo impact on my sites after hostgator shut them down

Last week all my websites were performing well and most in top 10 of google, but my host shut my sites down as wordpress needed to have a cache plugin.

Checking my stats and it seems that google now shows nothing when I click the cache in google

site:www.domain.com shows the pages but the cache is empty, has anyone had any problems like this and will my sites get their rankings back or will I need to start again and build backlinks.

Thanks
andy

The SEO impact? The sites are gone. There's no SEO impact as there's nothing
left to impact.

Change hosts ASAP and you may have a prayer.

Do the domains go to a parked page? If not, there's hope.
If they do, and you get it back up fast, it may fly under the radar.

A site "being down" is different than "parked."

Get a new host and get a host that you are on a first name basis with.
Find a local, reliable host. No way do I trust my sites to anyone that I
can't personally talk to. It keeps stuff like this from happening.

Hostgator gets the sites going as soon as you install the caching plugin so the sites aren't permanently down.

I have had this happen to me. Hostgator called me to let me know what was happening and what I needed to do about it. I responded promptly, the site was back up within minutes and had no long term SEO effects.

I have found Hostgator to be extremely responsive and helpful. In fact, much more responsive and knowledgeable than local hosts I used before. This type of thing is going to happen every now and then when you use cheaper shared hosting.

Thanks!

If hostgator shuts you down for that, it seems rather stupid.

If you are on a host that worries about server issues, server loads,
then come on! I can't imagine any logic in forcing you to have a plug in.

I can't believe they would shut down for that reason. I'd be worried about
every site I had on hostgator. What issue would be next?

A shared host which *doesn't* worry about these issues is actually a sign of a bad host.

Would you prefer that users could really slow down (or even crash) a server, with the host doing nothing?

There's a reason HostGator and other hosts monitor their servers (i.e. because in a shared hosting environment, one customer can slow down the server for every other site on the server)

Seriously, pretty much any half-decent shared host does this exact same thing?

"If you are clear where you are going and you take several steps in that direction every day, you eventually have to get there."

The sites are all back up and running but I was away for 3 days so they were down for those days.

some of my sites are still in page 1. Hostgator have been good and responded very quick.

THanks
andy

The rest should bump back in a week or two.

But it is always good to consider a dedicated server when your income permits and warrants it.

thanks for the answers. Hopefully they will come back in a few weeks without me doing anything.

I should have listened a while back when people say only put 20 sites on 1 shared host.

I've now learned the hardway how true it is and not to put all my eggs in one basket

Thanks
andy
