Google Indexed only 21 pages out 900

Hello warriors,
I have a website that has 900 pages. In my webmaster tools it shows
all the 900 internal pages that to link to my site but Google has indexed only 21 pages. Any explanation for this.

What kind of content is on the website? If Google has deemed that the content on the site is unworthy of indexing it's not going to index it. Which usually is because of auto blogging or some other spamming type of technique.

I've seen that on my own sites when I used an autoblog plugin. I don't use them any longer.

Google wants lots of links to your pages. In the bad old days of 2005, they would index almost all pages. That is not the case now. To get my pages in the google index I have at least ten different links going to each page. They should contain at least one pr2 and one pr1 the rest can be zero.

Also, make sure you have good site nav. That is because google hates deep pages. Try for no more than three levels deep and all the important stuff is on main. Widows and orphan pages get no love from big g. They want lots of links so the main page needs at least 200 links of which some are pr5 and up.

Keep in mind also that Google's bot only crawls until it finds what it is looking for and for what ever their algorithm time limit is. This is why it is important to have fast loading sites. The faster it loads the more the bot will crawl through. Google has taken load speed into account for I think about 6 months now.

Try to add a google friendly sitemap (xml format)

Maybe all other page of your site are seen as duplicate content in the eye of google .
That can be one possible reason .

I agree with Shannon and seobro. Make sure you do not have any autoblog plugins. In addition, you may have read that Google recently made some minor changes to their algorithms. Now, content and backlinks are not the only things that are important and considered by Google. In fact, I came across an article that says Google is now considering site activity as part of their indexing and placement requirements. This means that you must have activity in the form of Keyword search and constant fresh content. How much of this is true, I am not entirely sure. But I will go search for the article again and post it here. Unless of course there are any Google experts out there that may add to this information.

I beg to differ on the autoblog plugins. If you don't know how to use them correctly, then yes by all means stay away from them until you do but if you know how to use them wisely there's nothing to be afraid of. I have some sites that have well over 900 pages and have no issues with indexing.

Try regenerating your sitemap and submitting to start, maybe your site has some issues with the SEs being able to crawl them correctly.

duplicate content maybe.....or just start building links, pinging and begin bookmarking individual blog posts
