will it affect my ranking on a long standing site if I: 1.) redesign it from its current tables format to a cleaner css/div appearance? ---- same content or a little more added to it. Google likes site updates. 2.) move away from FP example.com/page1.htm extension to example.com/page using the r=301 mod rewrite IF it does affect it. Is it better to wait until a slow period like December to do the redirect? I was going to counteract the temporary drop in rankings, if it exists, with aggressive link building during that period. ( press release, more articles, forum links, etc.) . In addition, the site will have a much better internal link & external structure with more pages and more focus on monetizing. I am still seething after Wikipedia took over a #1 spot I held for 7 years. |

301 redirect and get rid of the tables. and to add a bonus use css compression with pagespeed. dnt worry bout decline in ranking it wont happen you can still out rank wiki by relevancy in content and backlinks |
