Hi, I am just starting to post comments on blogs related to the page that I want to promote for back links. I have a question and want to get an overall feel for what you guys have experienced. If I go to a blog that has PR2, 3, 4.... whatever and find a blog entry that I want to put some anchor text on but that page has no PR. What is the PR quality of the back link? Or, does the PR of the homepage give good weight to your anchor text? If I haven't explained myself very well please let me know, I can waffle sometimes ![]() Colin |

With your example, you are getting a backlink from a PR 0 page. Simple as that. Does the PR of the site (domain index page) have any influence, it's debatable and you'll get mixed answers which means nobody knows for sure. Some think it still helps to get a PR 0 backlink from a PR 10 site while others believe that the PR of that actual page is all that matters. |

Can't blame you. But PR is NOT all needed for a backlink. Other factors that elevate the power of the link are: - Do-Follow - Less OBL - Good content - No dupe content - No spam on the site .. many many more. So, you must consider these factors as well. Personally, I like to Do-Follow links with a high PR homepage. Karan | |
