So a few weeks ago I somehow got 1k searches from AOL on a keyword and a respectable 5% of them clicked on my ads which ended up giving me ~$60 for that day from adsense. However, I really don't understand how this is possible considering the google search numbers for that day where the same (~100, at #2 and even at rank 1 MAYBE I would get ~500 tops) Aol and google share the same search results right? I don't understand how AOL would somehow give me 10 times the search amount of google on that day for that keyword (it's not "local" but 70% of searchers are from the US). Just wondering if anyone ever heard about something similar. It still baffles me to this day. I also seriously doubt this is a bot that constantly changes his IP address because 1) Ya, it was different IP's (and I'm sure adsense double checks that) 2) They had "usual" search patterns.. some visitors going to my other posts and clicking ads there... etc |
