Default What's the deal with all those $100-200 CPC words when browsing the keyword tool

Browse a bit around the categories in the google keyword tool, with having selected all the columns to show up, so you can see the average CPC column and sort them by that.

You should find lots of $50-100-200-250 words right now. I never browsed them like that before, so dunno if its a temporal bug or something else but it's been like that since yesterday.
When I'm logged in adwords i get the same, i even went ahead and created a campaign for one of them and sure enough, it told me that i will be paying $100-250 per click.
I deleted it right away, so can't tell what happened next.
But your input will be appreciated.
These numbers can't be real. Everyone is getting few $ tops from adsense and that's supposed to be 68% from the adwords cost.
Even if they are bidding less on the display (x-content) network, even if they have high quality score (still not sure how this works) I'm pretty sure they can't go down from $200 to $4 per click (so you can get $3 or so).

Of course it could be that none of those super high bidders, bid on the display network, but still i dont believe that anyone is paying google $200 per click.
Even if you convert 1:10, that's $2000 per lead. That for products not really that expensive.

How much a CPC could be decreased with quality score?

Well ... I don't think this is actually true. Imagine the following:

You build up a website for one of these keywords with a CPC >500$. Now You don't even have to get in google rankings to get a huge amount of money. Normally Google will pay you, I don't know, around 5-10% at the beginning? That would be an amount of 25-50$ per click. Now you hire some of your friends to just click once. Let's say you asked 5 friends, So you could earn 100-200$ without doing something. You just throw out a page for this keyword and now you have a nice startup money. (I know this is against the TOS and it's blackhat but who will really know about it?)

advertising is a competitive world, PPC and getting your name out there on top of your competitor will always come down to the same thing

Who has deeper pockets......

Remember, these are people that are using CPC for Google Search, meaning they may have the Content network turned off. The only way to check this is to see what advertisers come up on the exact phrase search and compare it to what advertisers come up on your adsense page. Even then you don't know if they keyword that Google is using for your website is the same as that is displaying in the search engine. Furthermore, the advertiser may have the CPC Search at $100 but the Content network at $1

Is there a reason I shouldn't? Would you think Advertising is limited to affiliate marketers?

Join Linkedin and set up your profile so you look like a professional and not a spammer. Find a Local Marketing Group in a big city and follow what they have to say. They probably wouldn't be as nice as the warrior forum but you might learn a thing or two.
