It takes about 24 hours for the ads to stop. They killed ads on another one of my sites a week or so ago. I think as economic times get worse they will purge the adsense system. My guess is the site was a PLR site and they will now start cracking down on them.

this is the email you get

Hello,

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as bestwoodlaminateflooring.com.

Publishers may not place Google ads on pages that violate Google’s webmaster quality guidelines (Webmaster Guidelines - Webmaster Help Center). While we've included the following excerpts from these guidelines, we recommend that you take the time to review them in their entirety.

* Make pages for users, not for search engines.
* Don't employ cloaking or sneaky redirects.
* Don't load pages with irrelevant words.
* Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
* Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank.
* Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
* Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
* If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

As a result, we have disabled ad serving to the site.

Your AdSense account remains active. However, we strongly suggest that you take the time to review our program policies (https://www.google.com/adsense/policies ) to ensure that all of your remaining pages are in compliance.

Please note that we may disable your account if further violations are found in the future.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Issue ID# 550622

To help keep your account in good standing, we recommend all publishers review the policy guidelines found here: https://www.google.com/support/adsen...y?answer=23921

I can see your adsense too. Anyway, I also receive this email from Google.

All that you need to do is just check what's wrong with the mentioned site. If you are not sure, just ask them for the specific problems.

This site is also completely de-indexed (banned by Google SERPS). I wonder if you know when did this occur?

This is extremely important because Google claims that the Adsense and the SERPS teams do not communicate but I do believe this.

By the way, I received exactly the same e-mail from Google about a domain that expired more than 2 months ago.

I really don't get it. I went to an Adsense open day in Hong Kong recently and they explicitly encouraged the use of 300*250 Ads and especially an Ad at the bottom of the page.

I think you should clarify with them what the exact problem is.

I think you are lucky they take you out "per site" unlike others who's account is just totally banned w/o warning.

Sorry to hear that; I just checked your site and couldn't figure what was wrong.

I am just starting an adesense website (120+ pages) and made sure everything was original content, in the hopes that Google won't disable the account. Any update on the cause?

I don't think it has anything to do with PLR. I suspect that is has something to do with the site being deindexed. Their assumption is that if you're deindexed you must be violating Google Webmaster Guidelines somehow.

Darin,

At least this site is on a subject you can use several different
affiliate programs for. I think selling real products beats selling
clickbank stuff any day - but that's just a personal preference.

The cancellation might have something to do with the fact that
it just happened to come up for a manual review and it looks
like a keyword targeted made for adsense site. They are very
particular that the site be something really targeted for the
readers enjoyment and not just to draw attention to the ads.

If you have sites where it you can do it, you might test some CPA offers as well. The only issue is that they expire, but we use OpenX (free) to solve that as you can set time-frames for offer and set a new one to go live when another expires and control multiple sites from a central ad-serving location.

That's horrible that they keep yanking your sites like that. This is why I fear making one large adsense site and having them feel like it suddenly doesn't meet one of their many guidelines and disabling any ads to it.

I bet you'll find that you'll make more in the long run running cpa and affiliate offers in place of adsense. Now I see why they say multiple streams of income is the best.

Sorry for your misfortune man. ;(

I think I may know the reason. I have read around the net that Google don't want ads to be placed right under misleading page titles (subject to their interpretation, so it may be wise to just not continue doing it) without using the word ADVERTISEMENTS. They especially dont like it under titles like "hot deals of the week" and your example above "Best Wood Laminate Flooring."

Now a lot of people have been using this method for years as this is effective but Google seems to be really cracking down on this lately. You may see conversations about this at the following link below. Read the comments as well. I'm sure if you search deeper on other blogs and sites you will see people talking about this same issue. Some people have been more fortunate than others in that they receive a warning email and they are able to change it without being disabled.

Yeah i hear you but being wrapped content and all i think it maybe something else. NNot sure though. The example of ads under title on the adsense blog were the ones that had the title then ads underneath then content, but with google silence on the issue its hard to say

Hey Kevin, thank you so much for including the links to the
other 2 discussions. This is something I wondered about.
The template I am using is reportedly one that has been
successful for a lot of others, but it is possible that G has
changed their mind. Since I cant find any major reasons
why they stopped ad serving to my site AND de-indexed it,
this is now looking like a real possibility. It's also easy
enough to fix... I can just edit the template to move the
ads ABOVE the article titles.
Anyhow I'm off to read the
2 threads you shared. THANKS for doing so. I gave you a
'thank you' click, by the way.

Gary

PS: My thread on this is AdSense has stopped ad serving on my domain. Can you help me figure out why?

Okay, I've just read through both threads that Kevin
pointed out. The alternative acceptable solution is to
leave the ads where they are (under the article title
and above the article content) but add the word
'advertisement' above the ads.

There is a .gif which you can get at
Google: No AdSense Ads Below Blog Title
or simply insert the text word 'advertisement' above
the Google ads.

Or maybe move away from Google ads totally if
your site/topic suits that option. Replace it with fixed
Clickbank ads or CPA ads or Kontera, etc.

Of course...
the likeable thing about Google ads is that you
just paste in one piece of code and they serve
relevant ads. Is there any other service that anyone
knows of that also serves contextually relevant ads
from one standard block of code?

Is this a new law for google adsense ads? how many months has this new requirment been laid in googles rules?

is there any adsense page explaining this? or link to this 'New rule' ?

innocent07, the link in the post you quoted has some
relevant info, from Google if memory serves. It's worth
your time to check it out.

As a result of this coming up, I've now changed 4 of my
sites to comply. Easy enough - just add 'advertisement'
above the big Adsense blocks if they appear below
your article titles and above your article content.

Kevin,

Thanks for posting your link above. I think you solved the question of why Adsense was disabled. I would guess that someone like the original poster could go through and change his layouts, then ask google to re-instate his sites. Have no idea if it would work, but it might be worth a try.

I feel for you. I had a site banned that was making me consistently $100 a month and as I had graphics by the ads, that was verboten. They didn't tell me to change anything; they just said AdSense is cancelled for that site. I have since asked for reinstatement but they've literally ignored me. I'm not at the 8 day mark since I emailed asking for reinstatement.

P.S. Their arrogance is much like Microsoft's used to be and that has caused me to use Live.com much more (MSN's search engine -- yes, I see the irony). When my one site was banned, Nutritional-Supplement-Bible.com, I accidentally had the Adsense code by the graphics. I had no idea their TOS forbade it. I did that trick as Michael Cheney in his AdSense product said it would spike CTR and he was right.

I got shut down by Adsense a while back. I didn't even get told which site was the offender, and after that it was a wall of silence. I never did figure out why.
It definitely messed things up for me as I was just starting to hit around $25 per day... in addition to the hundreds of dollars in unpaid revenue which I never saw! People say don't rely on Adsense, that's fine but find me something that monetizes traffic just as well!

The crazy thing is I followed their rules to the T - all my pages were full of interesting, unique content, etc. Whatever.

This is what happens when you slap a PLRpro site with the defualt template and not rewriting any content. You should have changed the template at least.

I made a bunch of changes to my sites and have heard noting from Google. I did see they went back and looked after i made changes. I did however email them and let them know i was working on it, they never replied but the emails i sent were friendly and professional so hopefully they see i am making an effort. So far 24 hours after they were back on all my sites yesterday i am still good to go. My earnings dropped some but its still better then zero!

Lets hope what i did will do the trick, they also said if i make changes to the banned sites they will reinstate them into the network. So if the changes made are good enough i should be able to get my other sites back into Adsense.

My older sites yes did use PLRpro but i have since moved on from them long ago and use an entirely different format. They were put up when i first started and had no clue about HTMNL or anything for that matter. But they were making money so i left them be. Live and learn.

is the content original or scraped and re-written with some content spinner?

imho, dup content usually gets discounted but if you had a manual review, then chances are they red flagged it for penalization.

checked with COPYSCAPE.com ?

most was unaltered PLR. I am assuming that they used to not care but as things tighten up they do care. Most of my newer sites are 5-10 page mini sites all 100% original. They did de index some but not all of my sites that were the old PLR ones. I learned a lesson and will use it to better myself in the future!

I have just noticed that quite a lot of my sites are not showing Adsense Ads at the moment. All of them were already de-indexed by Google. Although not all my de-indexed sites are banned by Adsense. I have not received any e-mails from Google except for a domain that I no longer own.

The sites that were banned by Adsense are definitely turnkey MFA sites. Morover, the person who construced the sites used blackhat methods where different article titles could be scrambled with different articles so that a single article could easily give rise to 10-20 pages. Moroever, there were RSS, Amazon and eBay feeds going into the sites.

It is becomeing clear that a pattern is emerging whereby sites de-indexed by Google are subjected to a ban by adsense as well and perhaps vice versa.

I think in business generally, multiple streams of income is the best way to go. Large companies have gone bust due to losing their one BIG contract. I think online ventures a similar, although generally, they do not have the same overheads.

Agree. Even if you multiple streams of income that are relatively small, it all adds up, and it becomes more substantial over time. Multiple streams of income is probably more viable through online business than offline.

I have just received another letter from Google concerning another expired domain of mine. Before it expired, it used to have an turnkey MFA site. Therefore it seems that there is definitely a massive clampdown going on by Google.

Adsense has never been the major source of income for me. I stopped concentrating on me ever since my account was suspended for "invalid clicks" 3 years ago. I was completely innocent and my account was reinstated.

Sorry to hear about your plight with Big G. You someone i look forward to hear from when it comes to adsense advice.

But most of these guys here are right, i guess we all need to diversify and use some other streams of income like affiliate prodcuts into our sites especially if the site is rank very well.

thanks
Oling
