Post Press Releases - Pushing New Websites

This is not an ad nor are we affiliated with any press release websites or services.

We just want to pass on to people new to SEO & shoving their site up the rankings, another way of pushing their site to add to the list.

In the past we have used press releases to market new sites - especially sites that have a lot of competition.

Writing a good Press Release starts with laying it all out in the format the pr sites will accept. This pdf details how to do it.

Once you have your release you can submit it to not only pr websites but also to your local newspapers - supposing you have included something of local interest. A simple Google search results in various press release websites, some charge some don't - it's up to you where you submit.

You don't have to write something new, you could adapt something that you have already written for a blog for example.

The point of this is that as a new site it could be a while before you are indexed but by submitting a press release to an established pr website you are taking advantage of their myriad of links.

I can't think of a negative - but I'm sure someone will put me right if there is one. lol

Anyway, every little helps.

There are a few places to try *********************** & freepressreleases.co.uk & pr.com

pressbox.co.uk used to be free not sure if it still is - worth a look.

Entering 'free press releases US' into Google returns a number of free to submit websites.

When you fill out their online press release forms you have the opportunity to include your website address and tags - this is how the press release websites and their established place online can help to push your website.

Note: Once your press release is published online, link back to it and to the pr website.

I find PRLog to be by far the best free press release site.

For paid press releases, PRWeb is very effective.

Thanks for the PRWeb pdf link, Jack. Of course, if the press release actually contains news, you are going to get a better response from news organizations.

Put your best keyword in the headline if you can. Google seems to pay a lot of attention to headlines.

Yes - so what we have done in the past is have our client comment on a current news story. For example on one occasion we were trying to give a shove to a new shopping cart website. So our release commented on the death of the highstreet and the rise in popularity of online shopping,

For example> Bob Smith owner of online shopping site blahblah.com believes that, "The death of the highstreet is a natural result of the sudden rise....." Bob has seen a huge surge in demand, he said, "........"

And so on.

So, you can tailor any relevant news story to suit your subject and therefore make your release more likely to be picked up by a news organisation.

Note: For news organisations the fact that you are launching a new website is of no interest to them. What you need to do to tweek their interest is write a story for them that is linked to something that is current.

So true. I always tell my clients that it is not likely that simply submitting a press release to the list of online press release distribution sites will get it picked up by mainstream media. I was a newspaper reporter for a long time; the only stories that we would run were those that were timely, newswortyy, and of interest to our readers.

However - online press releases have a lot of value on their own, for backlinks, traffic, fast indexing by the search engines, branding, online credibility, etc.
