Google just announced a 2nd round of lawsuits against advertisers who violate its Adwords terms of use: Official Google Blog: Taking rogue pharmacies to court Previously, Google sued a number of companies (and the list continues to grow) who were using the 'Google' name to promote easy cash scams. Now, Google is suing rogue pharmacies. But note the important step now being taken because there is no trademark or 'personal' issue for Google directly: if Google doesn't like you, instead of simply banning your Adwords account it may also sue. Pharmacies are potentially just the bad actor of the month. . |

Interesting. But then... if being a "rogue pharmacy" is against their terms of service, it's against their terms of service. I'm no expert on U.S law, but I imagine "pharmacy" is quite heavily regulated in the U.S, so I imagine Google are doing this partly to ensure they ultimately don't fall foul of the law. Still, I understand your implication... what next? "Rogue internet marketers", "rogue marketers"? Who defines what's "rogue"? When using Google AdWords, Google get to define it. |

Also with Google on this one. Don't violate their terms, and they won't bother you. Fair and square in my opinion.

| The rules are all here. So I don't buy that as an excuse. You've been around long enough, surely you have seen my posts and linking many times to the Adwords guidelines and policies. Yep. Just like many other services: the phone company, my credit card company, the power company as well as the car sharing service I use. Any of them can deny you service or cancel it alltogether if you don't follow their rules. |
