Quick question guys. I've done a few searches today and after scrolling to the bottom of the SERPS there is no option to go to page 2 or beyond when Google Instant is turned on. Are you guys seeing this as well. Do a search with Instant on, and scroll to the bottom of the SERPS. Can you go to page 2 and beyond? If so, go to page 2 and scroll down the bottom. Is the option there to go to page 3? It's not for me and it's kind of startling. On several search result pages I can't go to the next page of results. Some of them the option is there, some of them it isn't. I just did a search for baseball and I was able to go to page 2. But on page 2 there was no option to go any further in the SERPS. Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing: |

If you redo the search, then does it look "normal"? I have experienced something similar over the past couple of days, and it goes even further. sometimes I don't even get 10 results. I may just see something like 4 results (and there are like 1 million search results). But, If i redo the search, it typically goes back to normal. Tom Quote:

I think they may be experimenting with several different data centers or maybe just on people with Chrome. After all, that was the point of Instant wasn't it? To help people 'refine' their searches. Either way it won't have a major effect on us, but I thought it was pretty strange.

Yeah yesterday i got this so much that ive switched of instant , it was a pain in the arse imo anyway with the constant flicking of results as i type. It might be a revolution in search but i really personally cant see the point for a usage point of view.

If Google ever tried to limit their search results to one page, they would become irrelevant at light speed and you would see a mass exodus. Surely, they would never be that foolish. That will be the day, a search engine that returns five results.. |

Are you logged into your Google account? I see your running Chrome, try the same search in Chrome Incognito, see what happens. |

Well that did the trick. I'm not sure if it was because I used incognito or just because there is a different data center that I'm hitting now but thanks! - Jacob

Looks like G was pulling info from your PC browser history. I always use CCleaner (clear cookies/history), & my manual Google searches in Chrome Incognito. BTW, I hate that new G instant search helper crap, lol... |
