Instead of using a bunch of separate PHP header redirects, I would like to redirect aff. links using the .htaccess file. Right now, the only thing inside my .htaccess file is a 301 redirect (for canonicalization -- it redirects the non-www version of the domain to the www version). Using the instructions on this page (Hiding Affiliate Links using htaccess Reaper-X .:[ ID ]:.), I know I can add 302 or 301 redirects to the .htaccess file to handle affiliate links. Here are my questions: 1. Should I use a 301 or 302 redirect when redirecting affiliate links using my .htaccess file? 2. Should I block all affiliate 301 and 302 redirects inside my robots.txt file? I'm planning to use 301 (permanent) redirects, and block the link in the robots.txt file to avoid passing link juice to the affiliate site. Is this a good idea? Any problems with doing this? |

I have always used the 301 redirects.
