Default Updating old posts or write new ones?

I'm currently working on a review blog.
Do you think it is more effective from an SEO standpoint to update old blog posts as more information on products becomes available or write completely new posts for every bit of information?

Always present fresh content. The index spiders likely will not give you the proper link juice. Content is king, you need to grow your content to increase your traffic not continue to update old posts. Any seo guru will tell you the same.

Cheers to your success!

However...

When you create new post it's a good idea to go back to your old post & create anchor-text internal links from the old post, to the new post.

As long as both post are related to each other.

Deeplinking to & from related internal articles can help boost a new article.

hang on.. What if i already have 10 Backlinks on a page and add fresh content on that same page. This will further increase the "power" of the page because its got fresh content, and you can boost the existing page backlinks instead of starting from 0... its still fresh new content, just on an exisiting page

If you think about it, we see old blog post that rank high & they get fresh new content added all the time.

Most blog platforms that allow comments...

A blog comment is fresh content.

Still I would rather have 2 pages of content (articles) than 1 really long page.

Both. Create new content, but after a few months, go back and change titles etc in old posts so they relfect your keywords more than they appeal to a visitor.
