Google #1 For all mortgage terms

Do a mortgage search and who is #1 on the PPC Ads : google dot com/comparisonads/mortgages. Do you think they are paying themselves $25 a click? Are they supplying good content for consumers? I did not think "comparison" sites were allowed? Anyway, looks like the mortgage market in the old USA got a little tougher :-)

well this website has no adsense on it so I don't think they get any money for a click ;=)

Wow. I can see this spreading to other terms. We are now competing directly with Google for Google traffic (both for organic and ppc).

Not only that but I have been seeing Youtube.com ads in my niche too! I have deffinitly taken a step back from PPC but stuff like re-targeting and long tail buyer keywords are to profitable to just forget about.

Yeah, google is wanting to get in on all it can, that's for sure. Just make sure you are using several traffic methods that won't go down all at the same time: Diversification is the name of the game.

You guys are mixing apples and oranges.

The top ads above the results are not there by way of paying the highest.
One should do some research on how one gets in on these choice sites.

It's a comparison ad, for one.
Perhaps you missed this:

done an update. They are there for a reason. They take you to direct places

Here is the Google page the adsense leads to (not aff link).

I copy & pasted the adsense url into Notepad, then deleted all the crap from the url.

It's a mortgage comparison page from other mortgage companies.

That's why you're screwed if you want to promote big search keywords. The big companies will just dominate you.
