I accidentally clicked on one of my own adsense ads. This is making very nervous since I know I did it before in the past. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening again. I asked on the Adsense forum but all they said so far is to use a certain plugin for wordpress sites. Not all of my sites are WP though and I use MaxBannerAds. |

It's fine. I do it all the time when modifying my sites as I work too fast. Nothing will happen they understand that sometimes it happens by accident and you just don't get money from it. If it happens every day, on the other hand, then you may be shut down.

I have done it few times by accident, and I am sure it has happened to everybody. What I did noticed on my adsense report that I was not paid for that click.

When I started with Adsense, I clicked a lot, and I got an email from Google telling me to stop. They were nice about it, but since then I'm careful not to do it anymore. Every now and then shouldn't hurt you. Sam |

I use Adblock Plus with Firefox and it blocks the Google Ads so I don't accidentally click my own ads when I am viewing my sites. Very easy to enable and disable if you need to. Kevin |

Anyway, back to reality. Just cargoing along. Relax. No big deal. Google knows people do it by accident. My advice is to not contact them. You don't worry, they won't worry. Paul

Thanks for the advice all. Looking at my account, there is a click that I am not getting paid for so it appears they have simply not counted it. Google just has so much power and I would really hate to lose my account. Cannot help but get nervous! |

i think Google will not ban you for accidentally 1 or 2 clicked, remember be very careful when viewing your own site from your own computer.

So if I find a keyword that pays $100 then I can set up a site (or 10) and click about once a month? Newbie problem of making $$$ solved!

This thread has gone from the benign to the absurd! I would imagine if you get one click a month, and it's all you.... Accidents happen people. We are not talking about playing with fire. Proposing to play with fire is asking to get burned. Paul

I have also clicked 1-2 times on my own by accident, by scrolling down the page and click on a link (not adsense) when my computer lacks and it scrolled longer down and i hit a adsense ad.

It happens, as long as you don't do it systematically then its no big deal and you won't be penalized.

It is so easily done when you are regularly surfing for ideas. If you see a site that interests you it has been clicked before you remember it is on your own site. It is good that Google recognizes this. Its a pity that there isn't a way for them to just ignore all the clicks you do yourself and not include them in your earnings - then the problem wouldn't arise and it would also stop those who are really trying to cheat the system. thanks, |
