Lightbulb Squidoo SEO PARANOIA

Hey WF,

My name is Mike, I just joined this forum to gain some knowledge about SEO.

My site went live about a week ago, and I have been using a link wheel strategy for my backlinks, but I don't think I'm doing it right.

I create a squidoo account, put up some content and put a direct link to my main money site. I then bookmark it on Diigio, Jumptags, Reddit, and Bibsonomy.

So, after all that, I create a separate e-mail account and create another squidoo page and then I repeat the process.

I do this because I am afraid it will negatively affect my ranking if I have multiple lens for the same topic on one squidoo lens.

Am I being paranoid or am I doing it right?

Thanks for any help.

Mike

You need to use more than just Squidoo.

You need to use more Web 2.0 sites like Hubpages, Wordpress, Tumbler, Quizilla and more... Create content on all of them with one link to your site and one link to one of the other web 2.0 properties. This way you will have all of them linking to your site and linking to each other giving each link pointing back to you more power.

After that, you will want to bookmark all the Web 2.0 sites you created which will create a second layer of links and than submit all of the RSS feeds of the Web 2.0 sites you created to RSS aggregators.

This will build you a link wheel and a pyramid as your bookmarking and rss submission will create links to your backlinks. This will serve 2 purposes:

1. it will make the links pointing to your site stronger
2. it will index all of those links faster (a link is no good if it is not indexed)

Hope that helped.

Manually I think it will be a more good idea, It has no point to pay for a service like this or to use automatic tools, because you will risk to be penalized for spam.

well do you think it is bad to provide the same article twice in your link "wheel" (well it shouldn't be closed)? It would be like this:
A,B,C,D ... unique articles:
A(Hubpages) -> B(Blogger) -> C(Wordpress) -> D(Squidoo) -> A(Blogger) -> B (Wordpress) -> C(Squidoo) -> D(Hubpages) -> A(Wordpress) -> ... and so on.
or would it be better to build 4 seperate link "wheels" like:
1. A(Hubpages) -> B(Blogger) -> C(Wordpress) -> D(Squidoo)
2. A(Blogger) -> B (Wordpress) -> C(Squidoo) -> D(Hubpages)
3. ... and so on.

What so you think?

And do I really need separate accounts for one web 2.0 to post more articles there but with the same link back to my money site??

Creating multiple squidoo accounts is a bad idea.

One account, multiple pages on related topics, even unrelated.

You wont be penalized for spam, the worst that could happen is that your post will be removed and thats just if the quality isn't good enough. I've had lots of lens and hubs removed which were manually written and of high quality

Only made a live site a week ago and you're already building backlinks?

Hold fire for a bit. I know it's not your question but in my opinion building backlinks too fast on a new sites is not so cool.
