Hello, I am new to SEO and have a problem. On my site, I have an SSL certificate because people can submit personal information. Thus, my domain is "https." Further, the "http" version is redirected to "https." For my SEO efforts, I am promoting the https version but I do not know if this is the right way to do it. I have about 200 pages, but Yahoo is indexing only 6. Also, when you go to the site, the PageRank and AlexaRank say "private." My site already appears organically for certain keywords, but it is listed under https (i.e., the green text for Google organic listings). Is this the best way to do it or should I promote the http version? In short, I suppose my questions are such: 1) How do I get the PageRank and Alexa Rank not to be private? 2) How should I promote my site (i.e., http or https)? 3) If I should promote the http version, is there a way to redirect http to to https but still have the http version appear in Google's green text for organic listings (cf. search "credit card american express" and you will see the listing for americanexpress but it gets redirected to an https version)? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you! |

So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter which you promote, they will be routed to the same place.
