Default In an SEO Keyword Dilemma: Plural or Singular in URL.. must decide.

This is my first post here. My name is Dan.

I just launched a twitter web app for finding links in your twitter stream and I have an SEO dilemma.

I just bought twitterlinktweet.com (current url) & twitterlinktweets.com (301 redirecting for now)

I like the way twitterlinktweets.com sounds, but it seems that the singular keyword of 'link tweet' gets much more search traffic.

What do you think would be best??

see adword keyword tool results @

Thanks,

I don't like plurals. But if you are planning on only traffic from search
engines, it's a moot point.

No reason to 301 redirect a non-indexed, non PR domain, in most cases,
but your case is a classic reason to 301 it. People may forget the plural,
or add it. That's how ya do it if you think there may be a problem.

There's a whole lot more to getting search traffic than having a domain.

You also have 2 potential keywords in the domain, twitter and tweet.
Having more than 1 is trouble, but I feel the need to keep the reason to myself
as of late. If you want a clue, just look at the top twitter sites for managing
tweets and look at the domains. What did they choose?

But according to AdWords Keyword tool there is good search volume for both "twitter link" and "link tweet", so wouldn't it be good to have them both?

You may have a bigger dilemma - twitter and tweet are both trademarked words.

From Twitters TOS:

Quote:
The Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries. Nothing in the Terms gives you a right to use the Twitter name or any of the Twitter trademarks, logos, domain names, and other distinctive brand features.
From the guidelines at the Twitter Help Center:

Quote:
Don't:

  • Use Twitter in the name of your website or application.
  • Register a domain containing twitter (or misspellings of twitter).
  • Apply for a trademark with a name including Twitter or Tweet (or similar variations thereof).
  • Use Tweet in the name of your application if used with any other platform.
