Does anyone find that all the forums in a niche don't allow signature links :P

Was looking for forums in the fitness/nutrition/workout niches, but not 1 person on any of the forums had a siggy-link :P

It depends on the forum. You probably haven't searched far enough to find a forum thaty will.

Checkout the backlinks of your competition and you gonna find the forums, which allow signature links for sure.

Also, make sure they are dofollow.

If you use the link in the signature and post on a regular basis, you could also take nofollow links, because real users do follow nofollow links.

I simply searched with: "powered by vbulletin" workout - the third forum I clicked into had a couple members with signature links.

Other forum signatures: phpbb, SMF, expression engine, etc.

No one will compile the list for you and you won't find an up-to-date list all ready to go for you on the web.

Never noticed this problem to be honest.

I was recently searching for forums in my niche (I simply Googled [niche forums]) and 3 out of the top 5 allowed dofollow sigs.

A word of advise though: Since forum posting can be a great way to build up a good reputation, hence you don't want to appear spammy, consider having a sig which is similar to most member's on that forums, and then inserting something like:

"Please feel free to check out my website: [link]"

At the end. This way, I doubt any mods would mind (compared to - say - just having a link and nothing else in your sig).

"If you are clear where you are going and you take several steps in that direction every day, you eventually have to get there."

I agree that to find out those that allow forum signature, just look at your competitors' backlinks - you will surely find several. And if i may suggest, you can also post on no follow forums, you will still get traffic from members.

TBH forum signature links are such low hanging fruit, its actually laying on the floor half rotten and covered in wasps....

the other reason people don't allow them in a lot of forums, is because people keep signing up and writing crap posts with signatures the size of a small city promoting their links.

Funny old world.

If I was a forum owner, i would disable the URL's also. Forums should be all about the community and not marketing.
