Like everyone else is saying, it takes a lot of work to get good rankings for high competition keywords.

The other alternative is to go after the low competition/traffic keywords in larger numbers. Personally, I don't like to do months or years worth of link and content building. Yes, it can deliver on some great money, but there is equally great money to be made on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Hi there,

I just had a look at the site in your signature line - is that the site you are talking about? Only there were a few things on the site that could do with a tweak before you send a lot of traffic to it.

For example the articles have a got a lot of spelling and grammatical mistakes in them. There doesn't seem to be any capital letters at the begining of the sentences and in some cases the order of the words used in a sentence don't make sense. You really want your content to be spot on, and when that is done you can optimize it for SEO. For example every one of your posts should relate to one or two of your best keywords. in IE the posts also looked disjointed in that there were big gaps in some of the text and it was single line spacing in other parts.

Your blog theme is very basic but clean which is good, but you could add the All-in-one-SEO plugin to it and that would help you to get traffic. I was also a little put off by the run of keywords you were using as your tag line - it would look a lot more professional if you put in a description about what the site was about rather than just a list of keyword terms.

Once you have gotten your site ready for traffic you can use article marketing, video marketing, forum posting and blog commenting as free methods of driving traffic. If you add to your blog posts frequently and have a ping list in place that are notified every time you update your posts that will work for you as well. Just using the pinging and the forum posting I was able to increase the traffic to my new blog from just under 100 per month to over 1000 a month and that was without any article or video traffic.

Those are the first couple of sentences from your websites. You are going to have a very hard time in general making money from a website that is full of spelling errors and grammatical errors. People who come to the site are not going to take it seriously, and are less likely to click on anything on that site.

As for article marketing - again, it won't work if you can't write well.

Step 1 is to have a site worth driving people to; THEN you can worry about getting traffic to the site. Everyone here has offered good traffic suggestions.

If you are talking about SEO, focus on onsite optimization such as putting keywords on your header, title and post etc, and offsite optimization i.e. getting backlinks.

Using the website on your signature as an example, there are many things that can be improved. Without knowing your target keyword, I am just guessing that your domain contains the keyword you want to rank for. Doing basic onsite optimization as mentioned above, and also bookmarking, will help heaps. For building backlinks, you can use softwares or hire warriors to do it for you for a cheap price. Look around the forum - there are tons of good info about SEO. Do a google search on this subject and you will find all the basic SEO techniques you need to get your started.

I'm having a similar problem, good news for me is My website is new. I just recently had my website's domain pointed to a new site so I lost all of my rankings from the previous site. It was only a 1 so wasn't anything to cry over. Do solid keyword research, use alt image tags for EVERY image and do Press Releases and Do Follow forums. This will help you out with SEO a little bit.

100 to 1000 views.. that's amazing!
I just read this post and decided I would give pinging a shot.
I had no idea what it was but looked it up in Google and it looks like it's giving blogs a significant boost in the search engines.

I'm working on a blog at the moment and I only get about 20 views/day so I'll give it a shot and hopefully I'll get some great results as well.

I do not want anyone mislead. I checked two sources and I find that you have 433 or 528 links to your home page itself (varies per source) and 7,961 links to your domain in general. You also have a PR of 4.

I do not know your rank in the SERPS, but you do have a lot of backlinks whether you obtained them yourself or people just linked to your site because they wanted to.

First you need to know that ranking not only matters for the traffic but also on other factors as the inbound & outbound links of the site , higher conversion rate & low bounce rate , quality traffic. And by providing each webpage separate value as per these factors , overall site pagerank has been assigned. So for the ranking try to manage all these things.
And for getting more traffic use the blogs, video, article methods with the social media. As social media plays huge role now a time to bring the more traffic to the site.
