Found this on a blog, though it's almost two and a half years old...

First sign up for an Adwords account. Then create an ad campaign and set the max bid to $0.01. You can disable your ads on the “Google Search Network”, since we’ll be targeting the “Content Network”.

The trick is to create multiple image ads that are shown on the “Content Network” for as many keywords as you can think up [thousands], and allow traffic from all countries.

The more keywords you have, the better. It’s important to remember, though, to keep your keywords relatively focused.

It might work for some low competition niches, but for most decent keywords you won't get many clicks.

It certainly follows the pattern...

As for the actual topic...

Sure, give it a try, but if you end up trying this with "mesothelioma", you just might go broke without realizing it. I'd test it on a keyword that runs $1-$2 a click, not $20-$30.
