I doubt.

What is the point of a press release?

• To cast your net as wide as possible.
• Buzz for your product or service
• Get backlinks
• Get the greatest number of people talking about your products/service.
• Send prospects to your site,
• etc

(This list is not exhaustive)

I my opinion, it would be counter productive to limit your PR only to specialized PR sites. Instead aim to get them to sites with the widest distribution.

(Just my 2 cents, you may disagree).

Not sure - since the industry works the other way round. There are enough people to submit enough news on enough topics, so I don't know whether sojeone would be begging for a news of "that" kind and if so then how good a readership and syndication system they have in place.

I would stay away.

yeah, @softsolutions, I'm not about to install your software on my machine just cuz you hit this thread. plus, you're not really addressing the issue i brought up, you're just pushing your wares.

@fredJones, interesting points. when i used the word 'begging' i thing i may have been getting over excited about my own idea (: But a news based site about processors for instance, wouldn't that be a good place to submit a press release if your company is in the processor business?

I'm open to being wrong here, but intuition tells me to get my news on the sites that are appropriate to my audience, and not just submit to the big mega news directories.
