Is something wrong with articlesbase.com, or is it just my pc? I just went to upload a new article and the site seems to be redirecting to an AskDavid site. Just me, or is something up? |

Not happening for me. Whether I type it in, or use my old login page bookmark, I get taken to what appears to be the real articlesbase. -- Patey

Thanks Patey. I had another friend try and he gets in just fine too. Looks like for some reason my own pc is redirecting. Gotta figure this out!

You should run a virus scan. You might have a virus or tracking cookie that's redirecting your clicks. Here is some information if you're running Windows XP, Vista or 7: Vista Cleaning Procedure - MajorGeeks Support Forums |

I've been running malware scans and virus scans for hours. Malwarebytes found 1 tracking infection and AVG found 8. I ran a full virus scan a few days ago and I was completely clean. I've been doing a ton of posting to article sites and Web 2.0 properties over the past two days. The last one I did before having this problem was to create a blog at Tumblr. Article base was accessing fine just before I went to Tumblr, so it seems there might be a connection there, but who knows where the infections came from. If things seem funky to you, scan! Good luck! It's rough out there. -Rob |

Did you try it in different browsers? Sometimes if your browser is redirecting its because you have installed a BHO or browser help object.

I'm getting the same issue -- Articlesbase.com re-directs to askdavid.quotesvista.com I've re-cached & cleaned out the search history with Firefox. Rebooted. Same issue on the following browsers after all that: Chrome, Firefox & IE. I'm going to try on a different computer in the morning as well. I can access the site by going through Google Cache, but you can only get one page. Perny: You stated you were at Tumblr when you had the issue. I had the issue while uploading an image from my WP site. There is definitely something going on here. |

To me it sounds like you have a malware/spyware. Or, it may be that their load distributor gateways are directing you to some server in their data center that has been hacked - just in case they have been partially hacked. |

Check your DNS/IP settings in your modem. These can be changed by hackers and will redirect you to other sites.

This is still going on. I ran multiple scans, my pc is completely clean, the Articlesbase site works fine for a while and then suddenly, the problem reoccurs. I submitted two articles to them this morning. Then I linked from a post on Blog.com and it happened again (originally I was getting this when I linked from Tumblr.com). I rebooted, was accessing Articlesbase just fine again, went to submit a support ticket to them about this, and after typing the details I clicked submit and was instantly redirected to AskDavid.quotevista.com again. Frustrating. |

Hi, I'm Ronit from ArticlesBase.com We have noticed the redirect issue happening to a few of our authors. Apparently a server between your side and ours has been compromised. We are contacting the networks involved, but since the problem is not on our servers the solution could take some time. It could help us if you could send the results of the following command: (done via command prompt - start: cmd and enter) tracert articlesbase.com Thanks for your cooperation. This may be similar to the Google Redirect virus - check the DNS settings in your modem. They should be your ISP's, if not your modem has been hacked. Ta Kristy |

This is happening to me also. It's still redirecting me as of 10/19. I can't find any virsuses or problems. This is the only site that seems to be affected. But, I can't see, log into or interact at all with articlesbase. No matter what I do, it automatically takes me to askdave

I've submitted several articles over the past few days and haven't been able to recreate the problem since I posted the tracert screenshot back on the 18th. Seems to be cleared up for me. Just complete speculation here... but perhaps the tracert info that I provided identified a server between me and Articlesbase that Ronit (the rep involved here) was able to contact and have clean up the infected server? Just a guess. If I'm no longer having the problem because of the tracert info I provided, can you confirm, Ronit, so other users still having problems can do the same? -Rob |

Well if it helps, here's mine. It looks to me like we both share verizon as our provider. I did try to work with them this am, but they had no idea about this or how to fix it. Man oh man. There was a short period of time yesterday when I could log in fine, but it bumped me out and went back to the redirect. This morning, it's still redirecting, but it's no longer ask david. The site actually says articlesbase.com rather than being redirected, but it's obviously NOT articlesbase. It's one of those sites which has nothing but ads and redirects. And I'm only having this issue with articlesbase. No other sites and no other issues. It is so strange. Anyone else?

Thanks for the reply. I've scanned and rescanned my computer and can't find anything off and have tried this with different browsers. And unlike other times when I've had a virus or malware, this is the ONLY site affected. It's always the same - and it's this way on every computer in my house - even my laptops running off WiFi. However, on my phone, which runs safari, it's fine. Unfortunately, I can't post articles from my phone. If you google it, others are having the same issue. I think it's just a small number of us though. It's frustrating. But I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried google cache but unfortunately, it always gives me only one page. Same with other proxies I tried when thinking it was my server. In other words, I can see the welcome page of AB this way, but if I go to login or submit, then the second page goes right back to the "fake" or redirected articlesbase. Thanks for listening.

Yup, it's 2:14pm EST and I'm getting the same redirect now that you mention above (not AskDavid, but a new one). Up till now, I've been accessing them just fine since Monday morning. They are definitely having some major issues over there. Hopefully Ronit will join us again and let us know what's up. | |

Yep Rob. 2:54 here and it's doing it again. I actually had two decent sessions today where I could log in. So, I did get some posting done. But now it's a series of links like car insurance and the like.
