Default Question about On-Site SEO

I am getting frustrated as to setting up my page layout.

I have a homepage where most people stay and click to go to the order page. I know i need content so in order to do this i created a column on the left. This is what the column says.

- How does this program work?
- FAQ
- Contact Me
- Articles

After they click on articles they go to another page that just has a list of hyperlinks like this

abc
bce
cde
def
eft

and each of those are articles. Will that build content for my site? Is that the best way to do it? Is there a wso or program that would teach me the best way to set up my site?
