My question for you guys is: Does submitting a single webpage or blog entry to too many social bookmarking sites hurt your SEO? I`ve recently been submitting each blog entry to 12 or 13 social bookmarkng sites, and I wonder if that`s too much. My SERPs have slipped a bit recently and I wonder if this could be the cause. What's an appropriate number of sites to submit each blog entry or web page to? Thanks for any help! |

I can't imagine that there would be such a thing as "too many" when it comes to social bookmarking. Even so, if there were, 12 or 13 shouldn't qualify as too many. Must be something else causing your SERPs to slip. Hope you find and fix the cause.

I can't say definitively whether or not there are "too many" sites that you can submit to. However, I would suggest that you don't "put all your eggs in one basket" when it comes to SEO. I mean don't rely solely on bookmarking. Make sure to vary your link building using articles, blog posts, blog commenting, video submission etc.. The more natural your link building appears, the more likely you are to rank higher, and also the more likely you are to remain there should Google decide to change anything. I did read somewhere that Google may start changing the way it ranks sites that rely solely on bookmarking. I can't vouch for the validity of that statement, but if it did happen, you'd want to make sure you were doing other things too. Hope this helps, Richard |

Like Richard stated..you need to vary your link building. Write some articles and post them to article sites, set up a blog preferably wordpress, put some videos on utube. You can also signup up with twitter, get a squidoo lens and a hub page. I know this is a mouthful but take one step at a time. The world was not built in one day. But don't expect to just do something once and build traffic automatically. You need to be posting ongoing to see results. Way past my bed time and I'm not as sharp right now to continue writing. Just keep doing something everyday towards bulding traffic. It will begin to pay off. One more thing..you can also write press releases. I wish you Success! Sonia The Miracle Lifestyles Coach |

12-13 is not that many, have you heard of bookmarking demon? they submit to hundreds of social sites. Social marker submits to over 40 sites. The best way to do it is to submit your lenses and articles. |

Social bookmarking does not affect that much in your seo.. For more exposure, I don't see any problem with multiple submissions.
