Hey guys,
Anybody knows if Google and Yahoo count links from articles published in Base Articles.com as quality backlinks?

It is an article directory site but has only PR=1 so I was wondering...anybody has any idea?

Are they showing up in your webmaster toools or Yahoo site explorer? Who knows if they are counted, and if so, to what degree. Quality always reigns supreme over quantity. Why not find a better Article Directory to post your articles if you are concerned about in the site above? There are a bunch of them.

Agreed. There are many respected article submissions that have high in page rankings, I would suggest that you find another sites that is more suitable for your quality content.

So far I was publishing in EZ articles, Base Articles and PRLog.
I know that PRLog and EZ articles are very much respected and links from them are counted as quality links, correct?

I do not see why the links from basearticles will not be counted by the search engines as quality links since it is "dofollow" and you can even use your anchor text to backlink.

The issue of high or low PR is another issue entirely and naturally, a higher PR article directory should pass more link juice to your article page, all things being equal, as it also depends on many factors amongst which is the directory's internal linking structure.

Thank you so very much for this elaborate response. I didn't say links from Base Articles will count as low quality links, I was just unsure because of it's relatively small PR=1 when I expected an article directory to have a higher PR. If you say I get link juice from there and it counts as high quality links than it's great news, thank you!
