|  Which Is Your Preferred WP Caching Plugin?
There are a couple of caching plugins for wordpress and just wanted to get people sharing which one(s) they like and why. I have been using Super Cache but have seen others, what do you think? |

I just got through going through this with hostgator and another one. It got so deep into which cache plugin to use that, to make their point, they suspended my hosting accounts and made me deal with tech security. It seems that hostgator and bluehost prefer W3 over Super Cache...to the point that they will have a temper tandrum then suspend all your accounts to win the arguement. Here's the downside to using W3. Depending on your site monetary module, you could still lose a lot of income because of the cache. I run CPM on a few sites. W3 caches between IP ranges (remember that) and the caches are shown to the users whether they are unigues are not. It also shows caches of 3rd party ads because it also caches the banners. Which will royaly mess up your counts across the board. I have tried all kinds of work arounds but haven't found one that would work consistantly without having to set on the empty cache button. The other day, I had a page view of 16k pages (I'm NOT talking hits) according to the server logs. I was only counted for 281 of them that day. Looking at the server logs in a spreadsheet revealed that there were about 280 different IP ranges that day. So W3 caches according to IP ranges rather than uniques. Maybe someone can shed some light on this cuz I'm stumped. |

I use W3total Cache and Supercache (depends on host). For Bluehost, W3 Total Cache works well. For my Dreamhost VPS, it doesn't play well with W3 Total Cache, so I use Supercache on those sites. Honest, I don't notice much difference though W3 Total Cache has several more options, I'm not sure if it's any better.

w3totalcache with disk caching on a shared hosting plan, and looks good
