Web Directories Submission

Many people say that backlinking should be done gradually especially for new sites.

When submitting a site to Web Directories, does it matter if you submit a site to dozens of directories per day or doesn't it matter?

I know the links don't get approved at once but most directories usually approve within about 14 days so i was wondering if this could cause any problems.

      I have submitted my different sites on high pr (above pr 3) free directories with reciprocal link submission ( by creating a separate page on my sites and place the link of directory on that page). It shows a good result for my sites.

    You know what, try and experiment and see

    For every site, I do a handful of directory submissions per day (yes, I'd rather not all at once) as part of my backlinking. For one thing I feel it's a normal part of a site's backlink profile to have some directory backlinks, and for another, who can say for sure it's useless for SEO purposes. Remember, Google likes curated content and few web directories auto-approve submissions, so that gives them SOME authority in itself, since they are not JUST link-farms, they have some human editing - *shrug*. It would be silly not to do, it's so simple...

    I submitted a site to Submit All Free

    After the submission it said;

    Please click the Ad to activate the submission then below it has an Adsense ad.

    Ive never seen anything like that.

      Erm, that is VERY naughty - I would report them, just because it's lower than low. It is definitely against the Adsense TOS if it's as you described and just plain cheap.

    It doesn't matter the amount of directories you submit to a day, keep writing and submitting. There is no limit but make sure the contents are unique to be able to generate traffic.

    You can submit to web directories as much as you can. You're right, it will take a long time before your URL can be approved.
