Why are my back links disappearing?

I'm working on my first site and the backlinks are disappearing...not that I have many but they are dropping!

I think this is due to various google data centres

It may just be that your links are being removed or moved from where they're at. For example, if they were from blog posts, they may have originally been on the index page, and are now moved to the blog post page itself.

there can be some reasons for this drop just like yahoo is dropping alot of link one of my site had 40 k plus links and now its only 10 k may be some of the websites are just removing the links.

Search sites that are linking to you, if you can not find the links in the email to the webmaster of the site and asked if they were removed or simply moved to another page from any page rank.

We are talking about Yahoo Site Explorer here, not Google.

I guess no one read Brendnat's link....they just like replying into the atmosphere :-) Yahoo has even confirmed they had an issue with the link reporting and is working on a solution.

Well said by tom. Its new to me that yahoo had an issue with the link reporting its good that they immediately working on a solution. What inside's Brendnat's link? Will you share it with us?
